Fresh Dog Food for Sensitive Stomachs
If your dog struggles with a sensitive stomach, loose stools, or fussy eating, heavily processed kibble can often make the problem worse. At Nika Pet Food, we prepare freshly cooked, single-protein meals designed specifically to be gentle on your dog’s digestion.
Our fresh dog food is made in small batches in East Sussex using 100% natural, human-grade ingredients. No artificial preservatives. No anonymous fillers. Just real food that your dog can easily digest and actually wants to eat.
Why Fresh Food Works Better for Sensitive Dogs
A sensitive stomach usually means your dog is reacting to something in their diet. Common culprits include cheap carbohydrate fillers, artificial additives, and mixed protein sources found in commercial dry food.
| The Problem with Processed Food | The Nika Pet Food Solution |
|---|---|
| Mixed Proteins: Many commercial foods mix cheap meat derivatives, making it impossible to know what is upsetting your dog’s stomach. | Single-Protein Recipes: We offer dedicated Venison, Lamb, Chicken, Turkey, and Beef meals, making it easy to isolate and avoid trigger ingredients. |
| Harsh Processing: Kibble is extruded at extreme temperatures, making it harder for sensitive dogs to break down and absorb nutrients. | Gently Cooked: We cook our meals gently to retain natural moisture and make the ingredients highly digestible. |
| Artificial Additives: Preservatives and artificial flavourings can irritate the gut lining and cause long-term digestive distress. | 100% Natural: We use only real, recognisable ingredients sourced locally from trusted farmers and butchers. |

Our Single-Protein Range for Sensitive Digestion
For dogs with sensitive stomachs, we highly recommend starting with our single-protein recipes. These meals make it simple to monitor your dog’s reaction to a specific meat without interference from other animal proteins.
- Venison: A novel protein that is exceptionally lean and rarely causes allergic reactions. Ideal for the most sensitive dogs.
- Lamb: Rich in essential amino acids and highly digestible, making it a soothing option for irritated guts.
- Turkey: A fantastic, easily digestible white meat, particularly recommended for senior dogs with slower metabolisms.
- Chicken: A classic, gentle protein that is light on the stomach and universally loved by fussy eaters.
- Beef: A nutrient-dense red meat option for dogs who tolerate beef well but need a cleaner, filler-free recipe.
- Fish Topper: A brilliant addition for dogs who love fish, packed with Omega-3s to reduce inflammation in the gut and skin.
Not sure which protein to try first? Our Complete Range Bundle allows your dog to taste test our recipes so you can discover exactly what settles their stomach best.
How to Switch Your Dog to Nika Pet Food
When dealing with a sensitive stomach, patience is key. We recommend a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days to give your dog’s digestive system time to adjust to real, fresh food.
Start by mixing a small spoonful of Nika fresh food into their current meals, slowly increasing the fresh portion while decreasing the old food each day. If you notice any loose stools, simply slow the transition down.
If you need personalised advice on managing your dog’s diet, our Canine Nutritionist, Monika Rozwarzewska-Delves, is available for nutrition consultations.
