Nika Pet Food offers individual one-hour dog walks within Eastbourne. Each walk begins at your dog’s home. I then plan the route around their age, pace, confidence, energy and normal routine.
There are no pack walks and no conveyor belt of dogs being collected across town. Your dog has the walker’s full attention for the appointment.
What the dog walking service includes
I arrange every walk around the individual dog. Therefore, the route, pace and level of activity can vary according to age, fitness, confidence, weather and what your dog actually enjoys.
Individual attention
I walk your dog individually. They will not join a group of unfamiliar dogs or spend part of the appointment waiting in a vehicle.
Start and finish at home
The walk begins from your dog’s home in Eastbourne and finishes there, so there is no unnecessary transport before or after the walk.
A walk suited to the dog
I adapt the pace and route to your dog instead of forcing every dog into the same distance, speed or style of exercise.
Observation and feedback
I will let you know if I notice changes in movement, energy, confidence, stools or behaviour during the walk. After all, small details often matter before they become large ones.
A walk is more than distance covered
Dogs also use walks to sniff, investigate, process their surroundings and make choices. A fast march may look efficient on a tracking app while giving the dog remarkably little of what they went outside for.

Who may benefit from individual dog walking?
This service may suit your dog if:
- They benefit from one-to-one attention.
- They are uncomfortable or overexcited in group walks.
- Their pace needs to be adapted to age, fitness or confidence.
- You want the walk to begin directly from home.
- You prefer a consistent, behaviour-aware approach.
This service is not the right fit if:
- You are outside Eastbourne.
- You are looking for group or pack walks.
- You require your dog to be off lead from the first walk.
- Your dog is a female currently in season.
- There is no opportunity for a proper introduction before the service begins.
Off-lead walking
At first, I keep new dogs on lead while we get to know each other. Later, I may consider off-lead walks only when:
- The owner has given clear permission.
- The dog has reliable recall in realistic situations.
- We have established a trusting working relationship.
- The location and conditions are suitable.
- I am satisfied that doing so is safe for the dog and others.
However, even a dog with good recall may remain on lead near roads, livestock or other hazards. Confidence is useful. Blind optimism is not a safety system.

Possibly, but not at the beginning. I consider off-lead walking only after we know each other well, your dog has demonstrated reliable recall, you have given permission and the location is suitable.
Do you walk female dogs in season?
No. I do not walk female dogs while they are in season.
Is a meet-and-greet required?
Yes. A home meeting and a trial walk help establish whether the arrangement works for your dog before regular walks begin.
How is access to my dog arranged?
I agree access arrangements individually with each client. In addition, the practical setup should be secure, clear and comfortable for both parties.
Will I receive an update after the walk?
We can agree updates as part of the service, particularly when the arrangement is new. I will also contact you if I notice anything unusual during the walk.
