Monika Rozwarzewska – Delves

Dogs have always been part of my life, and home-cooked food for dogs was simply normal in my family. My mother, a graduate of the Agricultural University and a food technologist, had a strong knowledge of canine nutrition. She taught me early on what supports a dog’s health and what is better avoided, so caring about food quality has been with me for as long as I can remember.
Growing up in Poland, commercial dog food was not part of everyday life in the way it later became. We fed our dogs fresh, properly prepared meals, and that shaped the way I still think about dog nutrition today.
After moving to the UK and starting my dog sitting business, I began cooking for some of the dogs in my care. One of my clients was writer and broadcaster Richard Coles, who had two elderly dachshunds. I offered to prepare meals for them, and the response was extremely encouraging. Around that time, I was considering studying dietetics, but Richard suggested I focus on dog nutrition instead. That conversation helped shape what would later become Nika Pet Food.
My husband, Simon Delves, soon joined me, and together we created a family business built around fresh dog food UK owners can trust. We use carefully selected ingredients, practical nutritional knowledge and genuine care to create freshly cooked meals that dogs enjoy and owners can feel confident feeding.

Dogs have been part of my life since childhood. I have always loved being outdoors with them, whether walking across the South Downs, exploring Sussex, or simply enjoying everyday life together. Dogs have a way of grounding you, and over the years they have shaped the way I see companionship, routine and responsibility.
For a long time, I did not question what dogs were typically fed. Like many people, I assumed standard commercial food was good enough. It was only later, through experience and through meeting Monika, that I began to understand how much nutrition can influence a dog’s condition, energy, enjoyment of food and overall wellbeing.
When Monika and I came together, we combined her nutritional knowledge with my practical experience of dogs and daily care. That became the foundation of Nika Pet Food. Today, we make freshly cooked dog food using real ingredients, balanced recipes and a straightforward belief that dogs deserve food made with more thought, more quality and more honesty.
We are proud to build a business that reflects what matters to us: good ingredients, responsible sourcing and food that supports dogs in a natural and practical way.
